While your website is still under development, you can enable Coming Soon mode to let your visitors know that your website is not yet ready.

You can add a note like " please come back in 30 days " or something like that. The point is, you are telling your visitors that your website is about to go live soon.

Elementor has a built-in feature that you can use to enable coming soon mode on your WordPress website so that you don't need to install an additional plugin.

What is the Coming Soon mode? Is it different from maintenance mode ?

There is a fundamental difference between Coming Soon mode and maintenance mode. Coming Soon mode means your website is under development and has not yet been published. While maintenance mode means your website is under maintenance and has already been published.

Another difference between the two modes is that the Coming Soon mode returns HTTP code 200. This code tells search engines that the website is ready to be indexed. Conversely, Maintenance mode returns the HTTP code 500, which tells search engines that the website is temporarily not ready to be indexed and can come back later.

How to activate Coming Soon mode in Elementor

The functionality to activate the Coming Soon mode is available on both versions of Elementor (free and pro). Two steps are required to activate this mode in Elementor.

Step 1: Create the Coming Soon template

First of all, you need to create the Coming Soon template. Elementor provides a number of pre-built templates that you can use to streamline your workflow (of course you can build the template from scratch as well).

To create a new template, go to Models -> Add on your WordPress dashboard. Set the model type to Page, give your template a name and click on the button CREATE UN MODEL to start creating the template.

You will be taken to the Elementor editor after clicking the button CREATE UN MODEL  above where you can create the template. If you want to create the template from scratch, you can click the plus button in the edit box to start adding a section.

If you prefer to use a predefined template instead, you can click the folder icon to open the template library. In this example, we prefer the latter option.

Select the Coming Soon predefined template you want to use and click the button INSERT to import it into the edit area. You can use the search box to facilitate your work.

Once the template is imported into the edit box, you can replace the default content (text, image, button, social media profiles, etc.).

Once you are done editing the content, you can click the button PUBLISH at the bottom of the left panel to publish the model.

Step 2: Activate the Coming Soon mode

Once your template is published, you can return to the WordPress dashboard and go to Elementor -> Tools. Open the tab Maintenance mode. In the option Select the mode, Choose Arrive Soon and select the model Coming Soon that you just created in the option Choose a model.

You can also set who can access your website during Coming Soon mode on the option Who can access.
