Would you like to know how to install Elementor on your website?

Our Favorite page builders for WordPress are Divi, Visual Composer and Elementor. They are easy to set up and allow you to create great looking pages. In this guide, we will mainly talk about Elementor by showing you how to install it.

You should know that there are three main ways to install Elementor. Like everything WordPress Plugin., you can do this by:

  1. uploading it to Elementor's website and installing it from the WordPress dashboard
  2. installing it directly from the WordPress repository
  3. By installing it from the cPanel

The first method is the one we like, it's easier for beginners and has fewer problems. But if the first two methods don't work, the last one will work fine.

Install Elementor via the WordPress dashboard

For this method, go to the Elementor website and choose the plan that suits your business.

Click on the button Upload an extension. This will open a window that will help you find the Elementor file that you downloaded in the previous step. Select the file and click Open.

You can either drag the file to the "Choose File" button, or click "Choose File", find your Elementor file and click "Open".

Since Elementor is powerful, you may encounter a WordPress memory limit error or exceed the maximum execution time.

Assuming you have installed Elementor successfully, you will see a “Plugin successfully installed” message.

Click on the button Activate the plugin to start using Elementor. You will be redirected to the page welcome from Elementor.

Install Elementor from the WordPress plugin directory

Installing Elementor from the directory WordPress plugins is usually quite easy. However, we find that this way does not work very well on XAMPP that many newbies use, which is why installing Elementor through the dashboard is a very viable option for newbies.

But if you opt for this second method then go to the menu Extensions from the sidebar of your dashboard then click on Add .

On the search bar located at the far upper right of this page type the word Elementor the first result is usually the plugin you are looking for. Generally it is the first that appears in the list of results.

You will be redirected to the page extensions installed.

Install Elementor from the cPanel

Installing plugins via cPanel is something every webmaster should know. This is a fallback that will work every time, if you run into errors with the other methods.

The reason we use cPanel, rather than FTP, is that most FTP programs don't have a Extract function, while the cPanel file manager does this without any problem.

If you absolutely must use an FTP, you must unzip the folder on your computer, then upload this folder to wp-content / plugins / folder. If you are on a Mac, the folder can be unzipped automatically. If you are on Windows, right click on the folder and click " Extract here". If you don't see this option, you may need to install the free 7-Zip program.

Let's install Elementor via cPanel.

Go to Elementor's website and download it. You will probably need to put your email address to access it.

Go to the cPanel of your website. The address is usually the following: yourwebsite.com/cpanel ou yourwebsite.com:2083.

Click on "File Manager", which will open in a new tab.

Go to public_html and look for the file wp-contentt from your website. You will usually find it on the root of your website, but your path to get there might be different.

If you can't find the folder wp-content it could have been renamed. Some webmasters do this as a layer of protection against piracy. If so, search wp-admin et wp-includes. These are never renamed.
