It is very difficult to start having constant traffic when you have just created a new blog. At first you can end up with 5 unique visits a day, sometimes this number can dramatically reduce.
How to start? What are the best practices to adopt? Lots of questions are probably going through your mind and you need answers.
I have just started with a new website for the moment I have not yet invested on Google AdWord, I just apply the methods that I will introduce you to have traffic and the results are quite impressive.
I therefore propose 10 practices that you can put in place to get off to a good start with your new WordPress blog.
1. Create an email list
More 75% of users who visit your site will never come back. That's why the first thing you need to do is start building an email list. Email gives you direct access to your users, and it's far more effective than any other marketing tool available today.

2. Install Yoast SEO
If you haven't already done so, then you should immediately install and Configure Yoast SEO plugin. It is one of the most complete plugins on SEO optimization. Not only does it help you add meta tags, it also adds Facebook OpenGraph, Twitter maps, XML site map and much more.
3. Optimize articles in your blog
Spend time optimizing each article your blog. Yoast SEO offers an article analysis tool, which assigns an SEO score based on the useful information you provide to each article. Follow its recommendations to improve the SEO score of each article.
4. Make a habit of making internal links
Have you ever wondered why most blogs have links to other articles? Search engines have internal linking, which allows them to understand the importance of your content, and the context of your articles. Links to your articles and pages your blog gives you a helping hand in SEO overall of your website.
5. Use SEO Tools

6. Use Rich Snippets on WordPress
Enriched extracts add useful metadata to your WordPress posts. Search engines can then use this data to display your site differently on search results. This could significantly boost traffic your blog.
7. Simplify sharing your items
Social media is a major source of traffic for a website. That's why even the most popular websites make article sharing easy for their followers. There are tons of plugins that can let you add social media sharing buttons. The downside of some of these plugins is that they significantly slow down your blog.

Social media is where your target audience talks about topics related to your niche. All you need to do is reach out to those users and join the conversation. Reacting will therefore lead you to come into direct contact with your subscribers.
9. Automate sharing on social media
A lot of site owners go through a lot of tools to share content on social media. You don't have to do this manually. You can automate it on WordPress to social media with IFTTT Or other tool like jetpack (what I am currently using). These tools allow you to save time manually sharing articles, and you can use this time to respond on social media to your subscribers' questions.
10. Share your old items
Twitter is the hub of conversation on the web. There is always so much going on. This means that your tweets are only displayed for a few minutes on a user's calendar before being replaced with new tweets.
You can not do it all the time manually. Fortunately, you can easily set up your WordPress site to automatically share your old articles at regular intervals.
