In the context of web design, background parallax refers to a behavior whereby the background moves at a slower rate than the foreground. Elementor (the pro version) comes with a feature that allows you to add this kind of background.

We'll cover it here.

You might have a little problem to add parallax background in Elementor Parts and accessories Elementor does not specifically use the term "parallax". Instead, to add a parallax background in Elementor, you can apply a scrolling effect to the background to which you want to add the parallax effect. The background we mean here is the section background or the column background.

In case you are new to parallax, take a look at the following example and notice the background image. This is an example of the parallax effect.

We said the parallax effect refers to the background and the foreground having a different rate of movement. On the facts, the case is not always like that. Instead of motion, a web designer can apply different effects such as blur, transparency, or scale. Elementor itself offers 6 different effects:

  • Vertical scrolling: Background moves vertically on mouse scroll
  • Horizontal scrolling: Background moves horizontally on mouse scroll
  • Transparency: Background appears as transparent before mouse scroll
  • Blurry : Background appears blurred before mouse scroll
  • Rotation: Background rotates on mouse scroll
  • Ladder : Background appears at a certain scale before mouse scrolling

How to Apply Scroll Effect in Elementor

As we mentioned, you can apply the parallax background, either to a section or to a column. Therefore, select a column or a section to which you want to apply the parallax effect.

Go to the tab Style and open the block Background. Set the background type to Classic and choose an image you want to use as a background and enable the Scroll Effects option.

Set the position and size of the background image, then select a parallax effect you want to apply by clicking the pencil icon in one of the available parallax effect options.

You can enable multiple parallax effects if you want.
