Elementor: How to add a divider to create a section

Need to add a divider to create a section in Elementor ?

When you work with Elementor, you can add sections. The section itself is one of the design elements proposed by Elementor and others page builders in general. It is the largest container for hosting columns and widgets.

In Elementor, you can add a new section by clicking the plus button in Elementor's edit box.

Elementor allows you to customize a section. You can add a background, define a border radius, add a separator or divider, etc.

In this article, we are going to show you how to add a divider in Elementor.

A Divider is great for adding a cool divider between sections of a page. You can add a shape separator on the top side of the section or on the bottom side. Elementor offers 18 shapes for you to choose from when adding a divider to a section.

Elementor uses SVG files for shapes, making them adjustable without reducing image quality (sharpness).

How to add shape divider in Elementor

The addition of shape dividers can actually be found on some Elementor models. To add divider on your own page, create a new page or publish and edit with Elementor. In the Elementor editor, add a new section by clicking on the plus button in the edit box.

To illustrate how a shape separator works, you can change the background of the section. To do so, click on the section manager to turn it into edit mode and go to the tab Style in the left panel. Set the background to the option Background.

Add widgets to make the section bigger. For a test, you can simply add the Widget Spacer and set its height to around 300.

Click again on the section manager to turn it into edit mode and go to the tab style. Open Form of separation option and select a shape from the drop-down menu in the section Kind.

You can also set the height as well as the width of the divider. To set the color of the shape, click the color picker in the section Color.

By default, the divider is added to the top side. To add a shape divider to the bottom side of the section, just click the DOWN tab and select the desired shape, set the color, set the height as well as the width.
