install FG Joomla to WordPress plugin
With your WordPress website ready to go, we need to install and activate the FG Joomla to WordPress plugin. Go to your WordPress dashboard and to the tab Extensions, click on Add . On the next screen, type the full name of the plugin and click Install now.
Once the installation is complete, the button Install now will be replaced by Activate. Click on it, and we're good to go!
For the next step, we need to head to your Joomla installation, but keep your WordPress dashboard tab open until then.
Locate your Joomla database settings
Log into your Joomla backend and find the option System at the top of the page, then click Global Configuration :

The removal process will take a few moments and then the above WordPress database section will be reset to zero.

Scroll down to the settings section of the Joomla website and paste the URL of your Joomla website in the respective field:
Below you will find several other fields under Joomla database settings. Go back to your Joomla tab and copy each setting into their respective fields. They all share the same names on both sections, so there shouldn't be any confusion.

Leave the field Port (The Harbour District) intact, then click the button Test connection to the database at the end of the section:
If the connection is successful, a message stating so will appear just below. Then head down to find the main import options.
The only settings you need to worry about are the articles and media archives. For the first, select Not imported, unless you wish to do otherwise, and for the second, select First image of content as featured image.

Then activate the parameter Import meta keywords as keywords and tap Save settings below.
Then click on the button Start / Continue import and sit back while the plugin works its magic.
