With billions of users active across platforms, social media has become an obvious choice for businesses and startups looking to improve their online business.

While with social media it is easier for you to establish your brand, products, services or information in front of a viable audience, it is ultimately up to you to determine how you want to leverage the benefits of the available applications. One of the most effective and reliable social media apps is buffer.

Read on to find out everything you need to know about using Buffer for social media management, how it behaves as a tool, and how to integrate it with WordPress.

Why Buffer?

Buffer is a sharing application to social media. It complements your ability to participate live on social media without bombarding your update subscribers.

If you don't want to inundate your subscribers with simultaneous articles on Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin or other social media then the Buffer app is the system for you.

It allows you to easily schedule Facebook bookmark updates, prepare Pinterest pins, scheduled tweets in a calendar from any computer (provided you have an active Internet connection). All you need to do is configure the updates and add them to Buffer. The app will do the rest.

How to Configure Buffer

Ready to start with Buffer? We will do the configuration in 3 steps. We will show you step by step how to make the necessary configurations with the Buffer calendar.

1 - Create a Buffer Account

Configuration buffer

Then you will be prompted to sign in to social networks. You can choose: your Twitter account, a Facebook page, a profile or a group, a LinkedIn profile or page, a Google+ page, Pinterest and Instagram. Depending on the network you choose, Buffer will ask you for permission to access certain aspects of your accounts (this is necessary to help you plan the publication of your articles).

Choose a planning option Buffer

Once you are done with the option settings for your social account, Buffer will ask you if you want to manually set the display times or if you want Buffer to calculate automatically for you.

If you choose to let Buffer do the programming for you (What we highly recommend), so just add the number of articles per day you want and it will calculate when articles should be published when your traffic is the most important. Once done, you will have completed the configuration of your account.

Not only will your content be published in a timely manner, but it also keeps your customers engaged on your platform all day long. Additionally, you can use the statistics from Buffer to see how many people clicked on your content, which articles were re-shared, etc.

2 - Scheduling articles on Buffer for social media

WordPress to Buffer includes options for you to schedule the sharing of your articles and pages, when published. Check the box (or both) and then edit the articles using the plugin tags, including the name of your blog, article or page title, excerpt, category, publication date, URL and author. Then check the box of the Buffer to which you want to automatically share your content.

Then just save your settings. Now when you create content on your site, it will automatically be shared with all of your accounts through Buffer. There is a Pro version available which includes features like the ability to post to Pinterest, custom tags for sharing your content, compatibility with images, settings for individual posts, and more. So if you want more options you can take the Pro version.

That's it for this tutorial. I hope it will allow you to share content on social networks using Buffer.
