How to add a Kanban board in WordPress

Upon activation, you will be prompted to choose the type of Kanban board you want to configure.

Once you decide which one you want to use, select Set! . For this example, we will use the Basic Kanban board option which has the statuses To DoDoing et Done .

Configure your general settings

After choosing the pre-designed Kanban card you want to use, you need to go to the tab Settings to configure the settings of your plug-in.

Under the tab General you will be able to determine the time increments that users must follow for their progress. For example, we chose to follow the hours.

In this section, you will also decide things like:

  • Whether to hide time tracking
  • If you want to display task IDs
  • If you want to display all the columns
  • Whether you want to use the default login screen or not

Configure your user settings

Under the tab Users, you will first define who is allowed to make changes to the Kanban board. Also, you need to determine who you want to assign new tasks to.

WIP ou Work in Progress, is the number of tasks assigned in each column of your Kanban board. By pre-setting the number of WIP pages you want to allow per column, you avoid a bottleneck of work in a column to improve the smoothness of the workflow.

For example, if you want to add 3 new tasks To do at some point, then set that column's WIP to 3. As long as one of these tasks is not moved to the next column on the Kanban board, no one will be allowed to add another one. To do to this column.

Configure your estimates settings

Finally, under the tab Estimate, you will determine the setpoints that users will be allowed to choose from when deciding the duration of a particular task.

For example, the default estimate settings include 2 hours, 4 hours, 1 day, 2 days, and 4 days.

You can, however, change these estimates to whatever you like. You can also add another estimate by selecting Add another estimate .

Keep in mind that any estimates you set will appear in your Kanban board in the order they are set.

After making the necessary changes, click Save your settings .

Add tasks to your Kanban board

Once all the parameters of your plugin have been configured, click on the button Go to your forum .
