In a previous tutorial, I showed you how to use MailChimp, but especially how to integrate it into your blog with the plugin OptinMonster.
However, if for you using a premium solution is not an option for the moment, I propose in this tutorial a free solution, which allows you to display forms subscription (mailchimp) to your newsletter.
How to install and configure the plugin Subscribe Forms
First, you install and activate the plugin from your Forms Subscribe dashboard or download this one As a zip file.
After activating the plugin, a new menu " SM Forms »Will be displayed on the dashboard.
Click on its sub-menu « MailChimp To insert the API key and the ID of the list where you want to add subscribers. Remember, I showed you how to do it in the " MailChimp tutorial in French ... ».
To retrieve the identifier of a list, open the list in question from the MailChimp dashboard interface and copy the value following the word " id In the URL.
Note : You need the premium version of the plugin in order to use MailChimp.
Add this information to the fields Enter MailChimp API Key "For the API key and" Enter MailChimp List ID »For the list identifier.
Once it's done, save your changes.
How to create a new subscription form
Just click on the submenu " Add New »From the menu SM Forms ". You will access a page similar to that of article writing.
On this new page, you can provide a title and choose a template for the popup.
Note : Only one template is available for the free version of the plugin.
In the section " Edit Form », You must define in which location the subscribers will be saved. It is only in the Premium version that you will be able to register users on MailChimp.
Then grab the shortcode on the right in the " Form Shortcode ". You can use this shortcode to display the online form wherever you want, in a widget or a post/page.

How to manage the list of subscribers
To access subscribers' email addresses, you must click on the submenu " DB Subscribers List ". You will see all the addresses of subscribed users.
You can download the list as a CSV file by clicking on the link " Download List ».
Note : This is a basic functionality. I admit that managing email addresses is not the best. However, this plugin that allows you to set up a subscription form in no time.
