The forms are very important for any website. Thus, well-known plugins, like Contact Form 7, Forms Ninja, WPForms and Gravity Forms, have long been leading the market. But new ones are emerging with better features. One of them is called WeForms.
weForms comes from WeDevs, the makers of WP User Frontend and here is why you should try weForms for your next form creation projects:
It was designed for the average and general user, which makes it very easy to use. It's super fast thanks to the Vue.js framework. At the same time, weForms has important and advanced features like productivity and email marketing integration.
Presentation of WeForms
I got a free copy of the Personal Pro version of weForms, but there is also a free version that has all the basic essentials to create a Contact form on your website. We will therefore introduce you to some features of the plugin. weForms is a modern form editor with several integrations that increase its functionality.
Some of its general characteristics are:
- Click Activation
- Quick form creation
- Live preview in real time
- Integrated models
- Drag & drop builder
Although it is designed to be user-friendly, so that the average user can find their way around easily, it is not straightforward. The plugin works very quickly and is simple to understand, but it is also very extensible. weForms is fully competent to accomplish advanced tasks.
- Advanced fields
- Customizing fields
- Conditional logic
- Multi-step form
- Responsive
- Export / import form
- Image and file upload
- Expiration time
- Entry restrictions
- Custom email notifications
- Submit a page via AJAX
- Notification by SMS
- Customize emails
- MailChimp, Paypal, Slack, and several other integrations
The intuitive interface, which uses drag and drop and free built-in templates, ensures you have everything you need. weForms can also be used on mobile devices.
1 - Installation and basic parameters
Installing WeForms is straightforward. As with other plugins, you can install it from WordPress.org or download the Pro version and install it on a regular basis.
2 - Creation of your first form
I have already mentioned a lot of things about how you will save time in designing with WeForms. now is the time to illustrate it.
By clicking on Contact Forms you will access the management interface of forms. From this same interface, you can access the form creation interface. Here you will notice 3 built-in templates for the Contact form, support form and event registration form.
You can also choose to start with a custom / blank template.
As you will notice, weForms has done a lot to simplify the process with the predefined templates, which are also customizable.
The templates appear like this by default:
Assistance form
Event registration form
In case you choose to use a blank template, here's how to create a new form using a blank template.
WeForms settings
The form settings tab opens when you open a new form from templates or a custom one.
Here you can choose from the drop-down menu to redirect your form to the same page when it was submitted, to a different page, or to a custom URL.
Do you want your forms have a specific lifespan? You can easily do this via the Submission Restriction part, where you can schedule your form, require your users to log in, and restrict entries to a certain number. The settings are easy to configure.
Finally, you can also select how your labels should appear.
With notifications, you can configure everything for email. It gives you complete control over where email notifications will be sent, including what should be sent.
The WeForms fields
One of the most important parts of the weForms builder is its feature of live preview and drag and drop of elements. To start, drag and drop a field you want in your form. Rearrange them as you wish. As you make changes, the dynamic generator will change accordingly when editing. This gives you an automatic preview of what the form will look like for your users. The process lives up to the promise of being user-friendly.
You can also customize each field the way you want with custom CSS. Being able to customize means that making changes to your fields can change the overall look of your form for the better. You can associate it with your website or highlight specific items. The weForms fields are:
- First name
- texts
- Text zone
- Drop down menu
- Multiple selection
- Radio
- Check box
- URL
- E-mail address
- Hidden field
- Image upload
- Repeated field
- Date hour
- Downloading files
- List of countries
- Numeric field
- Address field
- Step Start
- Google Map
- Section separation
- Custom HTML
- ReCaptcha
- Small code
- Terms and Conditions
- Action hook
- Ratings
3 - Publication of a form
The process of posting a form and doing it live is straightforward. Like most other plugins, just copy the shortcode at the top of the form by clicking on it. You can now post this on a new page or in your articles.
Here is an example. With weForms, you will have an interface similar to the following.
That's it for this tutorial, I hope it will allow you to become aware of the different features of the WeForms plugin.
Hello,
I have a problem with Weforms, When you click on send the wheel continues to spin.
And yet the form is sent. With this problem people do 2-3 send and I receive registrations several times.
Thank you for your help
Bjr,
I have created a WeForms form for my business site, however I have a problem when posting this one.
I copied and pasted the shortcode on the page where I want my form to appear, but when I preview there is absolutely nothing.
Likewise, I went to the WeForms plugin to try to preview my form from directly, but neither, no form in the preview.
Can someone help me please?
Hi,
we cannot give you support like the plugin developers can. However, I would like to give you some leads to investigate:
- Make sure you are up to date (plugin, system, theme)
- Make sure the plugin is compatible with your version of WordPress
- Enable WP_DEBUG_LOG logged errors and see if there is an error related to the plugin (this should be what if there is a path that points to one of the plugin files) https://codex.wordpress.org/fr:D%C3%A9bogage_dans_WordPress
- Make sure the shortcode conforms to what the plugin documentation provides (this tutorial may no longer be relevant, we are not notified when developers modify their plugins).
- Contact the developers directly.
