A few days ago, one of our subscribers ran into a problem because his WordPress website was hacked and he could no longer access his dashboard. In this tutorial, we will present a method that allows you to create a WordPress administrator by MySQL on PHPMyAdmin.

This tutorial requires some basic knowledge of how phpMyAdmin works.

First, you need to login to phpMyAdmin and locate your WordPress database. You will find phpMyAdmin on your CPanel.

We need to insert the information of our new administrator, so click on the Insert tab like in the image below. In the insert form, add the following:

  • ID - choose a number (in our example, we will use the 4 number).
  • user_login - insert the username you want to use to access the WordPress dashboard.
  • User_Pass - add a password for this username. Be sure to select MD5 function in the function menu (refer to the image below).
  • user_nicename - put a nickname or whatever you want.
  • user_email - add the email you want to associate with this account.
  • user_url - this would be the URL of your website.
  • user_registered - select the date / time at which this user is registered.
  • user_status - set this parameter to 0.
  • display_name - put the name you want to display for this user on the website (the value can be the same as user_nicename).

Then we'll have to add values ​​to wp_usermeta table. Click on the table of wp_usermeta then click on the Insert tab, as in the previous step. Then add the following information to the form:

  • unmeta_id - leave this field empty (it will be generated automatically)
  • user_id - this will be the username of the user you created in the previous step. Remember we picked 4.
  • meta_key - it should be " wp_capabilities »
  • meta_value - insert this: a: 1: {s: 13: "administrator"; s: 1: "1";}

Insert another line with the following information:

  • unmeta_id - leave this field empty (it will be generated automatically)
  • user_id - this will be the username of the user you created in the previous step. Remember we picked 4.
  • meta_key - it should be " wp_user_level »
  • meta_value - " 10 »

Then click on the button perform And you will have created a new user yourself.

At this step, you should be able to log into your dashboard, with the username and password you specified for that user.

Once logged in, click Users and change the username you just created. Go all the way down and click on the button " Record " (you don't have to change anything). This will allow WordPress to add a bit more information to your new account.
