The first impression is almost always decisive for a customer who wishes to use the services of a person. And for us, our first impression is definitely the homepage.
If it is always true that any user who arrives on your website will not necessarily come via the home page, it is still an aspect of our blog that we must improve as best we can.
In a previous tutorial, I showed you how to create a pro page with the Plugin « Visual Composer », Today I will show you how to do it with the Plugin « Ultimate Landing Page ”, which is free (or rather semi-premium).
If you do not understand a point, we are at your disposal for any suggestions.
Good reading.
Installation and Configuration
When I said that this Plugin is " semi-premium » it is precisely to raise the aspect free of the last. « Semi-premium »Also to emphasize its functionalities, but also and above all to say that there is an upgrade for a version PRO.
However, you can download from WordPress.org or install and activate it directly from your dashboard. Le Plugin is not configurable, so you will use it " out-of-the-box ».
How to create a « Landing page " (Page home)
After installing the Plugin, you will notice on the left side menu of your dashboard a new menu entitled " Landing page », Click on its submenu« Add New ».
The page on which you will arrive, will propose you a list of templates to choose. You will notice that some templates can not be used with a free license.
For this tutorial, we will select the template number 1, then click on " Update On the same section Select Landing Page Template (J'hope you haven't forgotten to add a title to this' landing page ").
Below we will determine the different colors that apply to the backgrounds (background) and texts (text Color).
We will start by customizing our templatefor this, on the section " Edit Landing Page Template Select the template you previously chose, then click on " Update ».
You will notice on the same section a sample of setting page. It is the latter that we will modify.
Each areas with broken lines is text boxes that can be edited. Le template put at your disposal fixed areas (this may be his fault) where you can enter different texts and links.
Once you have finished customizing your template, click "Update" to save your changes.
With the right color settings, you will be able to create impressive home pages. Here is what I was able to achieve in just 2 minutes.
It is true that in the end the free version is quite limited in terms of template, however you should understand that this is just to give you an overview of the different features available on the pro version.
However, with the free license, you can create conversion pages, to have new subscribers, in particular with the integration of MailChimp. To learn more, I invite you to read our tutorial on the creation of a newsletter with MailChimp.
That's it for this tutorial, hope it helps you create some great homepages.
Sorry, I inadvertently validated my previous comment before being able to put in the necessary polite phrases!
Thank you for your article and your site.

Thierry
Hello,
Once the page is created, how to make it the home page of the site? (it is not displayed in the pages and therefore not in reading but only in the landing pages section)
Good evening Audrey, Sorry for the delay,
To display a page created with the plugin as home page, you must access the theme customization options and choose a "landing page" as home page
Kind regards.
