Two weeks ago, the W3Techs site, which makes statistics and quantitative studies on web technologies have determined that WordPress proudly powers 25% of sites currently online, as evidenced by this image taken from the site:

It is true that the figure is subject to fluctuations, but it is still interesting to be able to say that one in 4 sites works under WordPress. However, with the addition of 1100 WordPress sites (in the top 10 million sites) the 25% mark will be comfortably crossed by the end of the year.

We can predict that the big opportunity remaining at the moment is that of the 57% of sites which do not use a CMS (= Content Management System = Système de Gestion de Contents) known, even if the other CMS remain potential targets.

This number 25 is a new number to be added to the WordPress community in 2015, with the 20 years of PHP, and the 10 years of the WordPress-francophone association. We can also add to this list 4.4, the future version of WordPress which promises to be very interesting too.

A big thank you to the whole community, developers, translators, and others!
