The full screen map modules on Divi facilitate the integration of personalized Google Maps everywhere on your page. You can even add unlimited pins to the map and set a custom starting location. Modules maps are in Normal Width format as well, so be sure to check that out too!

Google Maps API key

An API key is Requirements to use the Maps module. To obtain an API key, log into the Google Developers Console, which will walk you through the process and automatically activate the Google Maps JavaScript API and all related services. The first thing you will be asked is to create a new project.

Next, you will be asked to name your project. You can name the project whatever you want. In this example, I simply called it “Maps”. You can also enter the domain of your website (add a * in front of it if you allow access from www.domain.com and domain.com) to ensure that are authorized to your API key.

After you've created a named project, you'll see an API key that you can use.

After obtaining an API key, you must copy / paste it into the theme options panel by going to: Divi >> Theme options >> General settings >> Google Maps API key

How to add the Divi Full Screen Card module

Before you can add a full screen map module to your page, you must first jump into Divi Builder. Once the Divi theme installed on your website, you will notice a button Use Divi Builder above the post editor whenever you create a new page. Click on this button to activate Divi Builder and access all the Divi Builder modules. Then click on the button Use Visual Builder to start the generator in visual mode. You can also click the button Enable Visual Builder when you browse your website in the foreground if you are connected to your WordPress dashboard.

use divi builder

Once you've entered Visual Builder, you can click the gray plus button to add a new module to your page. New fullwidth modules can only be added inside fullwidth sections.

If you are starting a new page, don't forget to add a fullwidth section to your page first.

Locate the full width map module in the list of modules and click on it to add it to your page. The list of mods is searchable, which means you can also type the word "full screen map" and then click enter to automatically find and add the full width map module! Once the module is added, you will be greeted by the module options list. These options are separated into three main groups: Contents , Design et Advanced .

Use case example: Add a full-width map module to a contact page

A full-width map module is a great way to showcase your business location on your contact page. And the ability to add multiple pins to your map to highlight different locations and business information is a useful and attractive feature.

For this example, I'll add a full-width map module to showcase location and business information by adding a custom pin to the map.

Important : Make sure that a valid Google API key has been entered in the Options panel of the Divi theme. The map module will not work without it.

Using Visual Builder, add a Fullwidth section at the bottom of the contact page. Then insert the Fullwidth Map module into your new section. In the Content tab of the full width map settings, enter your company address under the Map center address option. The map center address is the center point of the map.

Then click + Add a new item to create your first pin. Update the following:

Title: [enter the title of your location] Content: [enter the content of your pin (address and phone number)] Map address: [enter the address for this specific location]

That's all. You now have a full-width dynamic map module at the bottom of the contact page with a clickable pin that displays company information.

Full-width map module content options

In the content tab, you will find all the content elements of the module, such as text, images and icons. All that controls what appears in your module will always be found in this tab.

Google API key

The Maps module uses the Google Maps API and requires a valid Google API key to work. Before using the Map module, make sure you have added your API key in the Options panel of the Divi theme.

Map Center Address

Enter an address for the center point of the map, and the address will be geocoded and displayed on the map below. This is useful if you have multiple pins and you want the map to be magnified in a specific and more precise location. You can simply type an address in a standard format, such as "1235 Sunny Road, Some City, State, 88343".

Administration label

This will change the module label in the constructor for easy identification. When you use the WireFrame view in Visual Builder, these labels appear in the module block of the Divi Builder interface.

Full-width map design options

In the Design tab, you will find all the module styling options, such as fonts, colors, sizing and spacing. This is the tab you will use to change the appearance of your module. Each Divi module has a long list of design settings that you can use to change anything.

Mouse wheel Zoom

Here you can choose whether the zoom level will be controlled by the mouse wheel or not. Often times it is best to turn this option off so that visitors are not disturbed as they scroll down the page and stuck the mouse wheel in the map iframe. This is especially true for full width card modules.

Draggable Zoom

You can choose here if the card can be moved on mobile devices.

Use the grayscale filter

Enabling this option will turn your map into a grayscale image.

Advanced full-width map options

On the advanced tab, you'll find options that more experienced web designers might find useful, such as custom CSS and HTML attributes. Here you can apply custom CSS to any of the module's many elements. You can also apply custom CSS classes and IDs to the module, which can be used to customize the module in your child theme's style.css file.

section advance module full-width card divi.png

CSS ID

Enter an optional CSS ID to use for this module. An ID can be used to create a custom CSS style or to link to particular sections of your page.

CSS class

Enter the optional CSS classes to use for this module. A CSS class can be used to create custom CSS styling. You can add multiple classes, separated by a space. These classes can be used in your Divi child theme or in the custom CSS style sheet that you add to your page or to your website using the Divi theme options or the Divi Builder page settings.

Custom CSS

Custom CSS can also be applied to the module and any of the module's internals. In the Custom CSS section, you will find a text field where you can add custom CSS style sheets directly to each element. CSS entries in these settings are already wrapped in style tags. So just enter the CSS rules separated by semicolons.

Visibility

This option allows you to control the devices on which your module appears. You can choose to deactivate your module on tablets, smartphones or desktops individually. This is useful if you want to use different mods on different devices, or if you want to simplify the mobile design by eliminating certain elements from the page.
